Several years ago when I was at Girl's Camp, we climbed up to "Testimony Rock" to have a sunrise talk and testimony meeting. After the meeting was over, and the sun was up, several of the young women in my ward were looking out at the lake and mountains and singing hymns. They started singing "How Great Thou Art" and it touched me. I loved it! I understood why my mom loved it so much and now it's a song I really enjoy.
Every now and then I see something that brings the words of the song to my mind. The other day I was at Jan's house, Lindsey wanted her to come out and see the clouds. I also went to look and jokingly started singing it. We had a good laugh.
Earlier this week we had a lot of rain. My jobsite was covered with clouds, rain, and mud. I was pretty unhappy that the rain made driving in and out of the site impossible because of all the mud. But one afternoon I looked out the office door to see if the mud was dry enough to walk on and this is what I saw!
The beauty of that scene made me forget all about the mud and my heart started singing....
O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
